Must Love Socks

on January 28, 2010

My child has an obsession with socks.  We aren’t sure why.  It started just recently and is pretty funny.  A few nights ago I was putting Ian to bed and he crawls under his bed and pulls out a pile of socks he has stashed under there.  What was really funny about this was some of the socks under there were ones I bought him for Christmas, but we haven’t taken off the plastic hook that holds the socks together when you buy them at the store.  Luckily, he didn’t try to put those on his feet.  He also had some other unattached socks under there.  I don’t know if he was concerned that he would run out or might need some in case of emergency.  I guess his solution to calm his fears was to put them under his bed.  *Note to self:  look under bed when things disappear.

Another habit he has developed is to put socks on when he is taking a nap or after we put him to bed for the night.  Last night I went to check on him before going to bed and once again he had pulled some socks out of his drawer and put them on his feet.  Sometimes he manages to get matching socks, sometimes not.

I wonder if this means he is going to grow up to be one of those guys that goes to bed with his socks on…
